My mum told me the same advice about sleeping when my daughter sleeps, when we got home from the hospital, its hard to do sometimes as this was my only time alone and I wanted to be doing alot of other things, but in the end I just had to sleep when she did and everything else just had to wait, as I really wasnt’ getting enough sleep with a newborn. My husband had no idea what to expect either, and found I was going to bed most nights at the same time as my daughter and we didn’t have any time together. But to me sleep was the most important thing otherwise I got cranky and grumpy.
